In the design process, we have learned a lot about configurations, variables, and equations in OnShape, enabling us to create a highly versatile wing generator.

While designing, we have collaborated with experienced professionals on the Home Built Airplanes Forum. With over 140 messages and counting, their community has helped us greatly. We sincerely appreciate all of their support, advice, and guidance. This updated truss design is just one example of the many ways they have helped us.

OUTREACH We've been establishing connections with teams similar to ours, such as the E-Hawk Team and our local EAA Chapter. Because we want our team to succeed in the future, we've been spearheading the admissions process and are ecstatic to announce that we have 13 new members! If you or someone you know is interested in joining our team, feel free to reach out to us at flightclubaerospace@gmail.com. We’ve also been working to establish a name for ourselves by creating and adapting a variety of social media accounts. Check us out at: Instagram: @flightclubaerospace, Facebook: @flightclubaerospace, & Twitter: @Fly_Ultralight

PHYSICS Our team has been working to make sure our ultralight safe to fly and informing important design decisions backed with physics calculations. Our future research includes analyzing fluid dynamics and stress testing various components of our aircraft.

To insure we have a strong truss frame, we double-checked the design team's CAD. We researched truss analysis, beam theory, took an online statics course, and learned the equivalent of AB calculus. We are now finished with truss analysis and are preparing to present our research to an industry professional.

SOFTWARE We're designing a digital dashboard to display useful information to our pilot. We've connected with experienced pilots to figure out the best ergonomic and visually pleasing way to display this data. Our sensors have been connected and programmed with a microcontroller to display vital information, as well as researched how to render maps using offline data.
